This task was created in response to my students needing more challenging problems. I connected the original fence problem to inequlities in order to address some of the misconceptions students have. I am using the last part as another challenge to push problem solving and reasoning. I do not expect students to use advanced math strategies to solve these. I expect them to reason through the problems with tables, drawings, graphs, etc. I suggest editing the names and/or the situation. I chose to use my husband in the problem as a way to let the students get to know me as a person. To address SEL, I give students the space to learn about each other and at the same time, I create the space for students to learn about me.I started day one with a quote and a Would You Rather to get students thinking about space (in preparation for the last problem). The full google slide lesson can be found here: https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/173NDS-y2qznaYHc_QvAAjHTA7pTPn11uooH5JHdN7GY/edit?usp=sharing
