This parent guide supports parents in helping their child at home with the 7th grade Social Studies content.

This resource accompanies our Rethink 7th Grade Social Studies course. It includes ideas for use, ways to support exceptional children, ways to extend learning, digital resources and tools, tips for supporting English Language Learners and students with visual and hearing impairments. There are also ideas for offline learning. 

While using this object, students are introduced to new information about Costa Rica.  It is reinforced with short facts and questions, and reviewed to strengthen their new knowledge of the concept.  Students can access Kahoot from a computer or mobile device.  As the teacher displays questions on the screen, students answer from their devices, and are given instant feedback.  Percentages of each answer chosen are then displayed on the screen.  As a bonus, students can later play in "Ghost Mode" to review the material and beat their score.

The area known as Latin America is made up of the region south of the United States, beginning at the river that separates the U.S. from Mexico, the Rio Grande’, and extending to the southern tip of South America, an area known as Cape Horn.

In the first six chapters of this book you studied a theme of geography and how it related to the region under study. In the last two chapters of this book you studied multiple themes and how they related to the regions. In this final chapter of the book you will put all five themes into practice by studying the most populous of the continents - Asia. More specifically, you will study the themes in practice in East Asia, which includes large countries in terms of land mass and population such as China and Mongolia, as well as smaller nations such as North and South Korea and Japan.

The students will view the video about fair trade from other countries. The students will learn what is fair trade and how individuals in other countries benefit from fair trade.
