This activity provides a reading log with a focus on Depth and Complexity ideas. Students will record their independent reading minutes and ideas about their reading.
After competing their book, students will use their Depth and Complexity Reading Log notes to create a digital book review to be shared with other students. A guide is included for students to use as they create their digital book review as well as a script. The teacher selects the digital platform that students will use to create their review (Flipgrid, Google Slides, WeVideo).
Using Wonders Literature Anthology and students Reading/Writing Companion, students will learn “What are different kinds of energy?”. Students will complete a pre and post assessment for data collection. Students will read about solar energy, wind energy, and fossil fuels. Using information from the text, students will create a poster board to present information about each form of energy and will code a Dash Robot. Students will code Dash to move to the different types of energy, and students will voice record themselves describing and giving detail of each energy form.
Google Sheets platform for small groups of students to record/share their discussions as they evolve their understanding of any topic, along with a Google Slides slideshow that teaches how to use the Google Sheets Group Discussion Form while small groups of students explore/discover how to generate each next row of Pascal's Triangle.

This resource helps students explore the major aspects of the book, Divergent.
Students will review their learning on long division, decimal division, and fraction division. Students will be able to choose what they complete for each section which gives them some variability in their learning. Students are also able to choose between taking a typical test or completing a "more fun" activity such as creating a poster or videoing themself teaching a couple problems. This is a hyperDoc that covers Ecosystems. It takes several days to complete this and has links to several different assignments. The hyperDoc follows the 5E Lesson plan format. There are several videos to watch, vocabulary, drag and drops, partner work, and a final group project. Because this is a digital resource, the students will need to have access to a device.
Teachers, you will also need to set up a Padlet and a Flipgrid prior to assigning this. Once you have them, you will need to link them on the appropriate slide. The second slide will remind you of this.

Resource for students to use during independent work time or literacy stations. Provides a QR code for students to listen to stories (2 non-fiction and 1 fiction) about elections. After they listen to the stories they choose one of the non-fiction texts to write facts about, find the main idea and key details, and define new words
