This article provides an overview of using rubrics as a method of assessment and discusses technological tools that facilitate the creation of rubrics.

The student will be introduced to transferable skills as preparation for the world of work. The students will work in groups of 3-4 to select candidates for various jobs in a company based upon the listed qualifications. Five skills will be selected and recommended to the HR Manager.

The protocols and resources in this appendix to Grades 6-8 EL Education Curriculum are referenced in the lessons and are related to checking for understanding, formative assessment, and building academic vocabulary.

Students will respond to a global issue by creating a group dance work that depicts their message. Students will experiment with flocking, staging, and manipulating the elements of dance to accomplish their desired outcome. All students will contribute choreography to their group work and reflect and assess work in order to refine their product.

We all have "learned" abiilities and "natural" abillities. Students will learn about transferable skills vs. job-related skills As the students learn about transferable skills, they will learn how to translate their transferable skills to a resume. Students will also create a list of their transferable skills for future employment.
