Craven County Schools' steps for engaging with #GoOpenNC
Craven Co Schools will engage in the work of #GoOpenNC in order to build capacity for our teachers to deliver content aligned to the standards.
Use this formative assessment to assess student's knowledge of determining the end time for a task, the start time for a task, adding minutes, and converting minutes to hours. Task cards are available as well.
This is a resource that can be used to target misconceptions and DOK for assessments.
This data sheet allows teachers a consistent and organized way to analyze student work by providing room for them to document noticings, wonderings, patterns, and next steps for instruction. There's also a space for teachers to record criteria for success to guide their lens for analysis. There is an example template provided to help guide you in your implementation of the document.
This activity provides a reading log with a focus on Depth and Complexity ideas. Students will record their independent reading minutes and ideas about their reading.
After competing their book, students will use their Depth and Complexity Reading Log notes to create a digital book review to be shared with other students. A guide is included for students to use as they create their digital book review as well as a script. The teacher selects the digital platform that students will use to create their review (Flipgrid, Google Slides, WeVideo).

After they listen to the stories they choose one of the non-fiction texts to write facts about, find the main idea and key details, and define new words
Extension: Discuss the vocabulary words: right, privilege. Students will read the description and determine if the example is a right or a privilege.
In this HyperDoc students will explore various energy resources in NC. At the end of the activity, students will reflect on what would happen if these energy resources were depleted.
