How does technology change the way that people locate new places? Students will use various means to locate a specific location and compare which is better for different circumstances.

In this three week unit, students will practice skills related to argumentative writing. They will ultimately write an argumentative/persuasive letter to the school board regarding school safety policy.

Students are in the library weekly for 40 minutes.In this lesson, students go on an Internet treasure hunt to find information about a famous world explorer and answer three questions about that explorer. They compare information from two different sites to conclude whether they can trust all Internet sources. 

Students will research an invention that had an impact on North Carolina's economic growth. They will use the Tinkercad website to recreate the invention.

In this lesson, students use their knowledge of sound energy to create a soundproof box to protect a secret code word! Students measure and graph decibels to determine how well their boxes omit sounds!

In this lesson students create large story maps to retell and familiar text. Students record themselves and place QR codes along the story map. Students then code Sphero Robots, dressed as main characters, to make their way through each part of the story.

It is a hyperdoc template that is based on the eWISE Research Model. It is broken into the 4 stages of the research model (Wonder, Investigate, Synthesize and Express).
